FAQs

Note: If you have a question that isn’t answered in the above FAQs please contact us and we’ll do our best to support you.

How do I know if a workshop or event is right for my level of experience?

You will never, ever be forced to do anything in the LoveBase™ that you don’t feel comfortable with! All of our workshop leaders agree to this ground rule if they are to run an event in the centre. Our events are also clearly labelled so that you know broadly what to expect if you participate.

NOTE: For some of our events, such as the LoveLabs™, we reserve the right to restrict a participant from attending an event if we consider this inappropriate, either for themselves or for the other participants.

Level of Explicitness:

Level of Explicitness: 1

Intimacy is focused primarily on the level of verbal communication and in some exercises involving non-sexual touch. You will not be invited to undress or have sexual contact with other participants, or with yourself.

Level of explicitness: 2

Exercises may include some sexual contact with other participants and removal of some or all clothing. The focus however is on controlled, carefully designed exercises, such as learning specific techniques or practices. During these exercises an important component is learning to set your own boundaries and respect your partner’s.

Level of Explicitness: 3

These events are intended for participants who feel comfortable with being naked in a group setting and possibly in having sexual contact with other participants. Note however, that certain pair or couples workshops also belong to this level and you may only be invited to enter into sexual contact with your partner.

The exact level of intensity of (sexual) contact will vary between events and teachers. If you are interested in participating in a Level 3 event but require more information, feel free to contact us to establish if the event is right for you. Even in a Level 3 event you will ALWAYS have the option to say NO if you do not feel comfortable with a specific exercise!

IF IN DOUBT PLEASE CHECK THE EVENT DESCRIPTION AND ASK IF YOU NEED CLARIFICATION!

Can I just drop by at the LoveBase™ to have a look around?

To maintain a high level of safety, confidentiality and trust for our particpants, we restrict visitors from entering the LoveBase™ centre without first having an appointment. If you would like to visit us please contact us first. We occasionally offer open evenings for people who are interested to get to know us and the work of LoveBase™. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and look around our centre. Please check the calendar of events to find out when the next open evening will take place.

Can I rent the LoveBase™ spaces for my own event?

We occasionally rent our spaces for external events, provided that we feel that the event is relevant to our work, values and vision. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

What about confidentiality?

We require all workshop participants to sign a confidentiality agreement, requesting that they do not disclose the identity of others in the group. We do not however offer this for all of our events. Our LoveLabs™ for example, are specifically designed to enable members to form groups. If you are unsure about the confidentiality agreement for an event you attend, we encourage you to clarify this with the teacher or group leader, either at the start of the event or before you register. Please contact us if you have specific questions or concerns.

I am interested in joining an event, but require a partner. Can you support me?

If you request support, we will do our best to find a suitable workshop partner for you. Once our full online community platform is launched, you will be able to contact other members directly. For certain workshops we also offer models – members of the LoveBase™ team who are willing partners for workshop participants. Please book early if you require this service, since availability is limited.

Do you provide one-to-one support with issues that I prefer not to address in a group?

If personal issues arise during any LoveBase™ event you participate in, we advise you firstly to discuss this with your workshop leader. In some cases it is appropriate for a participant to also receive one-to-one support. LoveBase™ are continually expanding the support we can offer to participants and we have a treatment room in our Berlin centre where approved professionals offer their services, ranging from massage and body work to therapy, healing and counselling sessions.

If you feel that you require individual support, please contact us to discuss your needs with one of the LoveBase™ team members.

Q. I’m interested in the work of LoveBase™ but afraid to take the first step. What do you recommend for someone like me?

Our events and workshops are all clearly labelled to help you to make the right choice, depending on your personal experience and needs. Please click here for further information.
